Sexual Assault / Abuse
Sexual assault or abuse may constitute the very worst violation a person can experience, particularly when that violation involves a betrayal of trust. Abusers can arise in any context: they can be family (or foster family) members, family friends, physicians, and even youth group or religious leaders. What victimizers often share is a desire to forever silence and control their victims, so that their crimes and violations may stay hidden. It is an act of heroism to report an abuser, in part because it is often the only way to ensure there will be no future victims. If you or a loved one have been assaulted or abused, contact us (confidentially and at no cost) to learn about all rights and options involved.
